With a half-day city tour on foot (and partly with public transport) you have the choice of what you want to visit. Of course, you can’t do everything in about four hours. But if you concentrate on 1-2 smaller units, you can visit them comfortably and in detail.
I generally recommend three different options for these tours, which can be done in around four hours:
- Visit to the Pest side (Heroes’ Square, Andrássy Street, Jewish Quarter, St. Stephen’s Basilica, Liberty Square, Parliament)
- Visit to the Buda Side (Castle district with Matthias Church, Fishermen’s Bastion, Royal Palace, etc. and Gellértberg (Gellért bath, citadel, view from the hill)
- A kind of “BestOf” Pest and Buda. In this tour you can get an impression of both sides. The tour focuses on the axis Heroes’ Square – Andrássy Street – Chain Bridge – Castle District
