Pécs, the European Capital of Culture 2010, is about 215 km from Budapest. The daytrip to Pécs means a slightly longer journey, but by a private car it can be done in just under 2.5 hours. First on the M6 motorway and then along a very scenic country road through the Mecsek Mountains.
In the city of Pécs we can do a self tailored tour to the sights you are interested in. There are many options to visit. Drive up to the television stower, visit the early Christian burial chamber (UNESCO World Heritage Site), walking tour in the historical city center, visit the basilica and / or the mosque from the time of the Ottoman Empire.
After visiting Pécs, you also have the option of completing the route to Budapest with a short detour to Villány. Villány has long been considered one of the best wine regions in Hungary. In addition to the tour along the wine cellars, a wine tasting is of course also possible.
