My personal favorite excursions from Budapest are the excursions to Lake Balaton. There are two versions of it. With this excursion, the focus of the visits is on the natural features of the region. We drive along the lake and reach the Káli Basin region, a few km north of Lake Balaton.
After visiting sights, such as the Hegyes-tű hill and the “Stone Sea” near Szentbékálla, we continue to the Tihany peninsula. The daytrip at Lake Balaton ends in Balatonfüred, where at the close of the day you can enjoy a glass of wine at a vineyard in addition to a walk along the most famous promenade at the lake Balaton.
